Option for choosing which stud with logo to use

I would like to choose view/export bricks with any of the studs with a raised logo.

Describe the solution you'd like
An Option to choose any of the stud primitives with logo (stud-logo.dat - stud-logo5.dat).
This option should be located in preferences in the primitive tab. If the stud contains a raised logo its geometry should also be exported with any of the export options.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Manually editing the brick I want to use.

Additional context
Some of the studs use textures, some geometry for the logo and one even uses just lines.
These studs use geometry and/or lines to display a logo.

@Nexusnui This sounds like a good idea. I will investigate, but given how little time I spend on LDView nowadays, it could take some time.

Does the current implementation for textured studs use one of the primitives?

The current implementation simply detects the stud.dat primitive and then applies the texture in the correct location. I believe that the stud-logo*.dat files are drop-in replacements for stud.dat, so this feature would use these instead of the existing logic if they were selected. The texturing would be mutually exclusive with using the geometry-based primitives.

I implemented stud logo preferences (along with high-contrast studs/edge lines) back in 2021. I've submitted this behaviour in PR #101 which could help you get off to a good start.

If you are interested in the high-contrast studs and edge lines behaviour (often used to mimic LEGO instructions look), I will be pleased to update the PR with this behaviour.

I believe it is. If you check the Use stud logo geometry checkbox control, Texture studs will be ignored. As you can see, selecting 0 Plain under this scenario will result in a blank stud. This is the snippet from LDLPrimitiveCheck.cpp that enables this behaviour:

What I more meant was that checking one check box should automatically uncheck the other. They aren't radio buttons due to being in separate sections, but I feel that the UI should not visually allow both to be checked.

Ah, indeed. Actually, I took a look at enabling this behaviour and also disabling the stud logo combo when Use stud logo geometry is unchecked. In the end I didn't do it as I imagined you may want to perform this implementation.

After checking again I noticed that actually none of the stud-logo primitives uses a texture map.

Another possibility is to add your own stud primitive that uses a texture map and always apply texture maps (to studs) if a logo stud is selected. Maybe somebody should propose the addition of a logo stud that uses the current texture map, to the LDraw library.

If you go that route you should probably include a fallback for people that have older libraries.
