Currently, an FDA only exposes a basic description field.
It would be useful to allow richer descriptive metadata to be associated with an FDA so that consumers can better understand the dataset without relying on external documentation.
Examples of metadata could include:
- Dataset description.
- Column descriptions.
- Tags or categories.
- Ownership or contact information.
- Other business metadata.
This information could be exposed through the FDA API and shared together with the dataset.
This is complementary to the derived metadata discussed in #233, which focuses on automatically generated metadata (e.g. schema and execution information).
