Drive segments split too fast/often

What tiggers a new "Drive" in the Drives panel? Is it the stationery time perhaps?
Is there a way to adjust this?

For example if I go to a destination, but I stop by a McDrive to get a burger, in the end it counts it as two drives, from home to McDrive and from McDrive to the destination - while this should all still be a single drive, shouldn't split in two. I just spend a couple of minutes at McDrive...

Same I just drop off my child at school, it's literally 30 seconds till she gets out and picks her bag from the trunk, shouldn't split the drive there...
