Best location source tracking for iphone

Hi everyone, my wife's got a iphone and I'm struggling to get it to work nicely with this. We've tried using home assistant and also overland. I am not having much success despite adjusting all settings. Somehow keeps gettings killed or cut off. I'm always noticing data gaps of large scale. Android phones don't seem to suffer this issue. Anyone else have any suggestions?

No issues with Owntracks. I use "Move" mode. Locatorinterval is 180 seconds. Works reliably for months.

I use Dawarich. Seems to work pretty well.

It has iOS shortcuts support. So, I have it set to start tracking everyday at say 6 AM. So, in case it stops tracking for some reason, it would start back up the next day at 6.
