feature request: add support for managing the repo.

I may be blind, but as far as I can see there is no support for managing the puppet/openvox repo. Wouldn't it be nice if that was also supported?

Isn't that a bit of chicken and egg situation? Or do you intend to use it to swap from one release to another, whether major version or Puppet -> OpenVox?

Yes, I noticed the catch-22, although that can be done by generating a swap script and running it.
But I meant setting up the openvox and/or puppet repository, as in the 2 files provided by for example: openvox8-release-fedora-41.noarch.rpm

Makes it very easy to switch versions and major releases.

That's a bolt task, but I have no personal experience with bolt.

I've always used this module within the Foreman ecosystem where I also used the provisioning capabilities. There I used host parameters to set up the repository. It then also did the server side required steps (for example on the Puppet CA) to ensure the new node was signed.

I don't recall how we did major version upgrades because it's been a long time since I went from operations to development. Back then the major upgrades were also going from 2 -> 3 or 3 -> 4. Certainly not upgrades you "just did" but required a lot more planning.

That's not to say I'm against this, but I'd look to @bastelfreak or @binford2k for some thoughts.

After a lot of testing and improving my code, I rolled out the 7->8 release by changing the 7 into an 8 and pressing save. I was very glad I didn't have to manually reinstall all ~200 hosts, as I had to do after the CA expired.

I will also be very glad I can replace all puppetlabs installations with openvox in due time.

I'm currently transitioning from the puppetlabs puppet_agent module to this one in prep to move to OpenVox. I found this when I was looking for the repo management too. I get the deployment with the foreman thing as that's what I also do but I have also used the repo functionality for major upgrades and found it useful.
