Adding sound?

Hi

Great project, works really well. I know the CYD sound isnt great however with sound mods its actually not all that bad and also apparently the newer CYD2USB revisions have the sound fixed from the factory.

Would it be possible to add sound support into the project?

By adding sound, do you mean the sound included in a video ?

Hi, I could be wrong but I assumed that even if a video was encoded with sound the CYD would not play sound? I couldnt see any sound related code in the sketch. Apologies if I'm wrong.

I just made some tests and it will not work, PSRAM is needed and this board do not have PSRAM

As far as I'm aware the 'original' project is based on an ESP32 device that doesnt have PSRAM: https://www.instructables.com/Mini-Retro-TV/ It does look to make very careful use to split the video and audio processing between the two cores.

Another popular project is this: https://www.instructables.com/Mini-ESP32-TV-remix/ uses a D1 Mini ESP32, doesnt look like that has PSRAM either.
