Hello 👋! I’m the maintainer of RubyLLM::MCP gem
Support for OpenTelemetry has been on my roadmap for a while, especially alignment with the Gen-AI semantic conventions for MCP:
https://opentelemetry.io/docs/specs/semconv/gen-ai/mcp/.
As we move toward broader adoption at my place of work, standardized observability via OTel is becoming increasingly important and I want make sure our MPC usage gets the correct coverage. I’d like to layer MCP-related OTel support into the gem in a way that follows the spec and remains optional/non-invasive.
It was awesome to see your gem pop up! Would you be open to contributions to support the MCP semantic conventions in the gem that would cover RubyLLM::MCP?
If so, I’m happy to open a pull request to start the work for support it
Thanks!
