Describe the bug
I am daily driving a Pixel 10 Pro on the Android 16 Canary build CP1A.260405.005. My current KernelSU manager is v3.1.0 (32302) and it keeps telling me to upgrade to version 32457.
When I click the red banner to update, the download gets permanently stuck at 8.78 MB. It refuses to finish or install the APK.
Also, because the app is hanging, it occasionally bugs out and says KernelSU is "Not installed", even though I am clearly running the patched kernel on stock firmware and SELinux is enforcing.
Here are my exact specs.
- Device: Pixel 10 Pro (blazer)
- OS: Android 16 Canary CP1A.260405.005
- Kernel version: 6.6.102-android15-8-g6eb5b2a8c46b-ab14739656-4k
- Current Manager version: v3.1.0 (32302)
You can check out the screenshots showing the KernelSU main screen saying Not installed and the download stuck at 8.78 MB.
Does anyone know how to fix the broken downloader inside the app?
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
- Open KernelSU Manager v3.1.0 (32302).
- Click the red banner at the top of the app to update to v3.2.4 (32457).
- Watch the download progress bar hit exactly 8.78 MB and completely freeze.
- Go back to the main screen, and observe the manager randomly dropping root status and displaying "Not installed".
Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.
The manager should successfully download the entire APK, prompt the Android package installer to update the app to v3.2.4, and consistently detect the patched kernel without displaying the false "Not installed" error.
Screenshots
KernelSU main screen showing Not installed
Manager download stuck at 8.78 MB
Logs
I cannot provide an app log because there is literally no option in the UI to generate or export one while it is stuck like this
