haven seems to fail after latest SPSS software update #793

When I recently tried reading an SPSS file using Haven, I got the following error message:
"Error: Failed to parse, unknown error"
The contractors I am working with have recently updated their version of SPSS. When I asked them to resave the SPSS file using an older version of SPSS, the problem was resolved. Note that I was able to read the original SPSS file using the memisc package, which suggests that the file itself was not corrupt. Rather, there seems to be some sort of compatibility issue between haven a newer version of SPSS.
