Document using this script to transfer data from Libre to Nightscout on Google VPS !

Hello,

Thanks Timo for the great script. I wrote a document to install your script to make it easy for everyone to install it on the Google VPS. Can I share it with you and you can put it in your repository ? Also, can you put a start.sh file with dummy values so it will already be there for people to use instead of creating it and then copy and paste etc ... ?

Have you noticed the last few days that every 4 or 5 minutes a bg value is missed. I also have some docker instances of this uploading to some Nightscout4u sites and no values were missed. Wondering if google may be throttling

I accidentally created my instance on the premium account so it costs me about 50 cents a month. The standard account I think might be throttled a bit. I don't have any missing BG values with my setup !

You will need to setup again with the new LINK_UP_VERSION="4.16.0" variable

cd /
rm -rf /nightscout-librelink-up

Then start from the beginning

Before doing the commands, you can save yourself a step by copy the start.sh file. So you can do the following :

cd /
cp /nightscout-librelink-up/start.sh start.sh
rm -rf /nightscout-librelink-up

Then start from the beginning

sudo git clone https://github.com/timoschlueter/nightscout-librelink-up.git
cp start.sh /nightscout-librelink-up/start.sh
cd /nightscout-librelink-up
sudo npm install

Then you can test it out with the following command :

cd /
bash /nightscout-librelink-up/start.sh

And then just reboot !

I did copy it first and actually you don't need to reboot.

Its always a good idea to reboot to clear everything up and also to first test out. None of this is necessary of course but just good practice. I wrote this for others and not to necessarily answer to you directly. Don't be offended.

cp /nightscout-librelink-up/start.sh start.sh

Then copy/paste the rest of the script and hit Enter:

Here are the instructions for the installation of the libre linkup script :

Now, you need to download and install the script from Github. To do so, paste the following in your VM’s terminal, followed by the ENTER key on your keyboard:

Always accept prompts to install or save.

Now we have to type in another command to install some modules to make the script work. Type :
cd /nightscout-librelink-up
sudo npm install

Always accept prompts to install or save.

Then you must create a start.sh file. Paste the following into your terminal: sudo nano /nightscout-librelink-up/start.sh

You are now in a File Editor. You must use the arrow keys on the keyboard to go where you want to.

Modify the values in the text below to reflect your own details, and copy/paste it into the File Editor.

Press CTRL X to save. Pay attention to the messages in the lower part of your screen. Type Y when prompted to save and exit after it prompts.

Now we can test out the data transfer from Libreview to Nightscout by executing the script just once :

There seems to be an error on line 10 of your start.sh file. It can also be something that was referenced to it. I would have to actually do some tests ...
