Is it possible to create a firmware, that requests 3A instead of the default 1.5A thorugh the PD request.
I have pretty powerful SSDs in an enclosure with the ASM2464 chipset that sometimes uses more power than the requested 1.5A through its PD handshake.
On my laptop the usb controller still outputs up to 3A despite the capability mismatch. However a different PC of mine shuts off the port above 1.5A (or slighly above). It supports 3A output for devices that require it by handshake or devices without any handshake. However the stupid ASM chip only wants 1.5 A so that's what it gets. I've checked the actual currents with a probe. For maximum writing it is just around the limit.
I would really appreciate a firmware fix.
Thanks
