Why can I not use the List.equal function in this codebase?

The OCaml standard library has the List.equal function to compare two lists (see docs) since version 4.12. My impression is that we are on a higher version of OCaml, but anyway when I try to use List.equal it says it is unbound. I'm still relatively new at OCaml so why would this be?

Perhaps in the module you work on, there is an Ext module open?
