How to render the sidebar expanded by default?

Hi Tom,

I'm using your theme for a site with multiple sub-projects, and having separate sidebars is a nice feature.

However, when rendering pages which are not in the sidebar tree (like release pages), the sidebar is collapsed.

For example:

Is there anything to be done to render the expanded sidebar even if the current page is not linked in the sidebar?
