Don't try to shove junk in .vscode/ into the git repo. Exclude the entire .vscode/ directory by default. Editor settings have NO business in VCS.
Anyone who desparately wishes to inflict their personal settings upon other team members contributing to the same repo, can modify their .gitignore accordingly.
