Getting file change notifications (for Plex)

Hello, I recently switched my NAS to MergerFS. One thing I was hoping I'd get to work is that Plex is notified of changes in the filesystem, so new media is picked up automatically.

I have four BTRFS partitions that get pooled through MergerFS as readonly. When adding media I like to write to a specific disk to keep things organized. Is some part of this why it's not working?
/mnt/disks/hd* /mnt/Pool mergerfs ro,nonempty,cache.files=off,dropcacheonclose=false,category.create=epmfs 0 0

It won't/can't work via that method.
