I don't have a good report to make since this extension doesn't even appear in the output even though it is installed.

I suppose the API to use VSCode has changed and as a result it doesn't work at all.

This extension doesn't write anything to the OUTPUT panel of VS Code. So, you'd better describe clearly what you wanted to report.

There's no syntax highlighting on .rst files, nothing in the output that I can see to tell why it would fail. I'll move away from .rst anyways so feel free to close this issue.

VS Code itself bundles the syntax file from this extension already, so in latest VS Code releases you don't even need to install this extension.

Thus, when you said .rst syntax highlighting didn't work for you, with or without this extension, it is very likely you hit something else.
