Loading ring stuck? #225

Describe the bug
On opening the app, even after force stopping and clearing its cache, the app's loading ring appears and remains for an indefinite time until hitting the "Return" button to open the browser's menu, at which point the startup page appears but the loading ring remains, even after further using the browser.

Steps to reproduce the behavior: Unclear?
Expected behavior
For either the loading to end at some point or, once "return" is pressed and the menu is opened, the loading ring to be gone.
