Exiting search window should restore previous window pane sizes

If I have a three pane window split in tall format, with a tall pane on the left and two shorter panes on the right, invoking the search window causes the search pane to open 'under' the first window. This moves it to the top of the right side of the split.

This is fine, but closing the search pane (by hitting enter) screws up the size of the remaining windows:

Same problem, is there any update?
