Display not reacting to RS485 device in Windows #7

Description

@abl73

Great project and thanks for sharing! Made me buy a Hanover one (84x8) as well. But little stuck since a few days. Hopefully someone can help?

  • Tried to test-run the Hanover (with E connector shorted), works perfectly!
  • Dial on 7090 motherboard is on 1
  • Have an USB-to-RS485 adapter (Windows shows me it is a COM3 port)
  • Wired the + of the RS485 to the red cable (data in) and the - (RS485) to the black cable of data in
  • Tried the test.js code to see if it opens my 'COM3' port which doesn't generate an error code. But same holds for '/dev/ttyUSB0', '/dev/ttyUSB1', '/dev/ttyUSB2' and so forth...
  • Tried so many combinations that I'm a bit stuck now (a few days ago I never had node.js nor visual studio installed; so already on a steep learning curve ;-))...
