Fully agree, also if you want to sync calendar to your smartwatch. Should have same support as Contacts sync feature |

For some users, Tuta's Calendar Widget is spinning forever and practically unusable. If Tuta would simply integrate with Android's calendar API, then the users could choose to use Etar as calendar app and Widget. Also the contacts integration with Android is incomplete: contact labels are not supported yet. |

Wouldn't implementing this functionality (even if it's opt-in) mean that encryption would have to be disabled? Kinda defeats the purpose of using encrypted tools in the first place. I understand not everybody can do self-hosting because it can get technical although it would be the most private option while maintaining compatibility with open standards. That or using a provider that respects your privacy while also providing regular CalDAV (Posteo, Mailbox etc.). |

The only thing keeping me from switching to Tuta for my calendar is the fact that it doesn't integrate with the Android API. I use a calendar built into my home screen for quick access to my schedule, and not having this functionality is a deal-breaker for me.
The perfect solution (in my eyes) would be having a setting in the Android app, disabled by default, that allows you to have it integrate with the Android API. That way the potential privacy hazard is eliminated because you have to go out of your way to turn it on.
