iCal link on dashboard is documented but not available

This is a disagreement between the documentation and the functionality.

Docs say:

a link to information about the current user's feed is displayed at the top of the CiviCRM Contact Dashboard.

I don't see a link like this on dashboard (but I do see one in the activities tab). I think the activities tab is a better place for the link, so I'd recommend updating the docs to remove the bit about the dashboard.

I'm inclined to try and make it work on the dashboard. A user may have access to the dashboard and not to the Activities tab, and we want those users to be able get their own feed details.
