Prerequisites

Description

DuckDuckGo has recently started doing sneaky ads where the first result is designed to mislead you into clicking on the link. I first encountered this a few days ago while searching DDG for costco rental car and again today searching for kuat rack. Both times, I was redirected through a URL that started with https://duckduckgo.com/y.js to sites that were not what I wanted. It appears to be some kind of ad syndication agreement with Bing.

I recommend that https://duckduckgo.com/y.js be blocked if possible.

Note: ad redirection doesn't always occur. It's happened to me three times in four days of normal usage.

I'll give it a shot. It's hard to replicate because the ads are intermittent and don't seem to re-appear for a given keyword once you've been served with one.

I can see the ads link, but it's already hidden by EasyList ###ads: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/assets/66517106/7fde20b3-5370-4a27-9b78-105f10219b54

I could reproduce these once in a while, using default settings/lists.

Ok just reproduced again after many tries. EasyList's #ads does not match. This matches all ads on the page: ##[data-layout="ad"].
