Firefox: ublock origin does not save settings after restarting

Prerequisites

• The issue is not present after disabling uBO in the browser.
• I checked the documentation to understand that the issue I am reporting is not normal behavior.

I tried to reproduce the issue when...

• uBO is the only extension.
• using a new, unmodified browser profile.

Description

I’m using windows 11 with the latest version of firefox 151.0.4 and ublock origin has started resetting to its default settings every time I restart the browser. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling it manually, but to no avail. Moreover, the list of filters now only includes one country, unlike usual.

A specific URL where the issue occurs.

It is not related to a specific URL.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open firefox
2. Change ublock origin settings
3. Restart firefox
4. Settings are restored to default values

Expected behavior

Maintain the modified settings across browser restart.

Actual behavior

Settings are restored to default values.

Disable all extensions except for uBO, restart Firefox, and see if the issue still occurs.

I tried to reproduce the issue when...

• uBO is the only extension.
• using a new, unmodified browser profile.

If not, please perform the following steps:

1. Create a new Firefox profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

2. In the new Firefox profile, install uBO: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/ublock-origin/

3. Test using the new Firefox profile and see if the issue still occurs.
