Description
just writing stuff down here...
I just tested the migration off of the hdd/rechunker which causes a desync of systemd-sysusers
The first boot into the non-hdd-rechunked image will fail and won't be able to reach GDM.
However if you shutdown again and then boot the same image everything will be fine afterwards.
This behavior is specific to bluefin-lts (centos)
https://github.com/renner0e/bluefin-lts/tree/rechunker-test
If anyone wants to try out an image with this hacky migration script applied and possibly figure out what we need on the migration script to make this more seamless, help would be appreciated.
sudo bootc switch ghcr.io/renner0e/bluefin:lts-chunked-oci
For 36ad847
ghcr.io/renner0e/bluefin:lts-chunked-oci@sha256:75d54df6120389a08b69728a0772046c85c0bde4a55791d4b6b03fd9f09607d3
here you can see the metadata to see if it actually was rechunked with rpm-ostree and not tainted by hhd rechunk:
skopeo inspect docker://ghcr.io/renner0e/bluefin:lts-chunked-oci
rolling back to a hhd/rechunked image also still works
