Performance regression since "last update"

Describe the bug

I have some hard performance issues since some "last update" which I can't easily pinpoint or describe. I've been using my new Framework 13 with Bluefin GTS to play No Mans Sky via Steam which worked pretty well. Then I've been absent from around 10th to 17th from my Bluefin machine. After coming back I installed all updates and wanted to play but it is completely unusable. Mainly I have three issues:

1. Mouse interactions are not always processed by the game but by the desktop or both. Leading to accidentally starting apps forcefully stealing focus from the running game and pushing into the foreground.
2. Keyboard interactions take multiple seconds until being processed by the game. Pushing a key doesn't do anything for 1-2 secs. After that the game reacts for the duration I held that button. But the delay makes it completely unusable.
3. Frame rate has dropped dramatically.

Since Updates are mostly hidden from sight I'm not sure which components were changed and led to that dramatic decrease in performance.

What did you expect to happen?

My 2 cents here is that if your framework has an AMD chip it could be related to that.

I have a thinkpad with AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 8840U and AMD Radeon 780M Graphics. The graphics regressed after kernel 6.15.9. By "regressed" I actually mean that gnome now freezes completely after login. I had to add amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x410 to my kernel args like this:

sudo rpm-ostree kargs --append-if-missing amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x410

and then reboot. Previously this kernel argument fixed a PSR related bug on this same laptop.

I'm not trying to hijack your bug report, I'm just saying that your problem might be a kernel regression related to AMD graphics.

It seems you are right. I don't have issues with gnome but games run painstakingly bad. After changing this parameter it is back to normal.

Running on the latest stable, I removed the kernel args now and the laptop still boots up fine. Earlier it instantly froze as soon as the desktop showed up in gnome after login in. I think the regression has been fixed.
