How to perform network operation in a custom command ?

Am using Tiptap for the first time, i am adding custom commands for different actions, these commands a related to a floating menu, and most of them require a request to my backend and then i have to replace a text with the one i receive from the backend.

At the current point i wrote the command and it perform the request to the backend, but it doesn't replace the selected text. I wonder if there is a specific way of writing such type of commands.

Here is what I've done.

Is there a recommended way of doing this?
