Description
The fire_behavior code in the UFS weather model needs to be brought up to date. #3126 brought in changes through September 2025, but more improvements have been implemented since then; most notably MPI parallelization support. A PR has been opened to the NOAA-EMC fire behavior repository where you can find more details about these changes.
Solution
These improvements should be brought into the UFS weather model via submodule update. No changes to the UFS code should be necessary to activate MPI support or any other features.
