Export of video possible?

Hi, I need to download snapshots at specific times from several camera's (based on a trigger, ffmpeg direct to the stream is too slow to capture the event). An unanswered discussion listed 'save-video' as a command to uiprotect, but as far as I can tell this is not impemented? Is there any way to do this?
