Well described @TheCoderJT & exactly what I came to suggest/request. Only addition is that this feature can extend to whatever the focus playing app is. So not just spotify, but YouTube, or whatever app is the currently active session. And to be clear, the clickable target should be the Song title on the taskbar widget as that's what is always in view. |

The app currently integrates well with Spotify on Windows 11, showing the media UI and allowing basic controls like play/pause and skipping tracks. This works great.
However, there is one usability improvement that would make the experience much smoother.
Requested Feature
Make the displayed song title (track name) clickable so that clicking it brings the Spotify app into focus.
Current Behavior
The media UI shows the current Spotify track
Users can control playback (play, pause, skip)
To select a specific song or interact further, users must manually open Spotify from the taskbar
Desired Behavior
Clicking on the song title (or media UI) should open or focus the Spotify app
This would allow quick access to playlists, search, or song selection without extra navigation
Why This Helps
Reduces friction when switching from quick controls to full app interaction
Improves workflow efficiency (fewer clicks and less taskbar navigation)
Matches behavior seen in other Microsoft apps that previously supported this interaction
Example Use Case
I often use two monitors and play games in borderless fullscreen mode. While gaming, my second monitor is typically occupied with other content like guides or YouTube, and Spotify is minimized in the background.
When I want to change to a specific song, the current process is disruptive—I have to either:
Use Alt+Tab
Press the Windows key
Or manually navigate to the taskbar and open Spotify
In a previous Windows 10 app, clicking the media UI (such as the song title) would immediately bring Spotify into focus on my second monitor. This allowed me to move my mouse directly over and interact with Spotify without interrupting my game or using additional keyboard shortcuts.
With this feature, I could simply click the song title in the media UI, have Spotify pop up on my second monitor, and quickly select a new track with minimal disruption.
Additional Notes
This would be a small but impactful quality-of-life improvement that enhances the overall user experience.
