this mcp server is great.

I'm thinking a way to enhance this is by also allowing the source docs to to have some sort of rules folder for various conventions that aren't obvious to LLMs.

basically a rules directory with a bunch of md files (like cursor) to give guidance on how an llm should implement certain features.

the mcp server would read that and put any relevant rules in the context it gives back

So what you’re saying is that we should have a rules folder, with a markdown file for each library, and the MCP server would include the contents of those files along with the docs it provides to the LLM? Did I understand that right?

no - more like the libraries themselves will provide a rules folder for conventions in their own library. like in the case of React Router, it may tell it to generate react code that uses the web platform more than using React hooks or whatever.

@cevr These appear to be opinionated rules. I don't see how all users of context7 would agree on such rules

Authors most likely know best how to guide LLMs in how to apply their code. The problem is that LLMs are trained in a lot of sloppy related data - meaning often times it will use library/framework code in suboptimal ways. Having extra guardrails that authors can put up would alleviate this
