problems to connect to guest from host in UTM #7057

Additional information: This morning it was the same: The internal ip is dead. With the external ip address I did ssh into the guest os. There I rebooted the OS. After the reboot the guest was still unreachable with the internal ip. Then I stopped the virtual machine and restarted it. Now, the guest could be reached with both internal and external ip. So for me it is clearly not an issue with the gust OS. Fred |

Final summary: Connect to guest from host with internal ip and brigded network works a coupple of hours. After that I cannot ping, ssh whatever. In order to get ssh to work from host to guest I have to add a second network with emulated LAN and portforwarding as described in other threads in this forum. I attach a log file if anyone can get anything out of it. During the log period I have done some failed attemps to connect host to guest. Fred |

Hello,
Host: iMac M3, Sequila 15.3.1
Guest: Fedora 41.
I have a strange problem which I have not seen anywhere when I have searched.
I use my guest as a webserver. I have selected bridged networking in UTM. My host has internal ip 192.168.0.5 and the guest has 192.168.0.13. In my router I forward port 80, 443 and 22 to guest 192.168.0.13.
When I start my guest in UTM, everything works perfect. However, when I leave my computer for a coupple of hours ( I have not figured out yet how many it takes), only the host's external ip adress works. My webpage still shows fine and I can ssh into the guest with the external ip. But with the internal ip (192.168.0.13) everything is dead. When I type this ip in a browser it just hangs. The same happens when I try to ssh to the internal ip. It just hangs. If I restart the virtual machine the internal ip work again.
It sounds weird to me that the guest becomes unreachable for host after some time. Of course I can live with using the external ip for ssh, but it is till a bit annoying.
Help would be appreciated!
Fred
