On system details page overview you have a option to change the assigned channels, just above the list of channels currently assigned to the system- |

Apologies if you already know about this, but in case you've missed a pretty core piece of Uyuni functionality that will make your life a lot better.
Anything you can do on one system using the webui, you can do with any number of systems using the System Set features.
In Webui - select machines from the Systems or Systems Groups pages. Then check top-right and see "systems selected" number changed. Click on that which takes you to "System Set Manager Overview"
Now any changes you make in there can be applied to all the selected machines at once. That includes changing the base software channel, and configuration channels, groups, run remote commands, everything.
The same functionality is available for scripting in spacecmd via the ssm_ options.
I use this a lot to manage our machines, it's one of Uyuni's most valuable features. (and spacewalk before it)

However, this only works with a single system.
The problem now is:
1.) to change the base and the client channel on many systems at the same time (GUI od CLI)
2.) to do this automatically with a script.
For example with spacecmd system_setbasechannel 'with all child channels from the activation key'
