Would be nice to have legacy support for old versions of jquery

I'm guessing that this probably isn't going to be a popular request, as most people will be running up-to-date versions of jQuery.

But I'm having trouble finding well performing checkbox tree's that will run ok in jQuery 1.3. We're stuck on 1.3 for compatibility reasons. :-(

This might be too much to ask, but it would be cool to have a branch the supports 1.3.

Though I must admit, as soon as we can upgrade to 1.6 we will, but I wonder how many people are stuck on old versions of jquery.

So I suppose it depends on how much work it'll be to create a backwards compatible version?

Shows there are quite a few unlucky people like me having to use old versions of jQuery. However those stats aren't going to be the most accurate indicator, as it doesn't say how many of those sites are under active development.

Sure, I can schedule this. The problem is that some functionality (expecially about checkboxes) could be lost.

I've modified the code a bit to get it to run with jQuery 1.5. Essentially, it's the usage of the prop() method that breaks things with regards to earlier jQuery releases. I replaced prop() with attr() and things seem to work alright.
