Provide a set of app templates that developers can clone

At the moment the app templates/examples are part of the SDK repo

This means developer has to:
- Know they exist there
- Close larger repo
- copy/paste the example out of the clone to their own project
- fix issues after the copy/paste

Instead we should investigate having a slim set of application templates that developers can clone and use easily
