Option for system icons only

Not sure if this is possible, but is there an option to install just the system icons that appear in the topbar, etc but not the folder/app icons. Alternatively, is there a way to just remove the folder/app icons post install?

I came in for the same reason, currently I've changed some third-party application icons manually, but sounds more reasonable your idea.
