This theme is very close to my heart and has been my daily driver for a while now.
Right after upgrading to Gnome 50, these issues started coming up.

This is an issue with Nautilus, where all the elements shrink and get collated:

Both the control-center and the calendar shrank too:

The dev seem to not be super active on his repos at the moment, I hope he is doing okay and can get back to it eventually.

In the meantime, I made this pull request to fix the issue #596
But I'm not sure when it will be merged, it might be a while.

If you want to fix the issue, you can use this PKGBUILD here https://github.com/tristanmsct/orchis-theme-git, based on the code from my PR as a temporary fix.

So a couples way you can do that.

1. Using my temporary fork

You can clone the main repo
git clone git@github.com:tristanmsct/Orchis-theme.git
cd Orchis-theme

Then switch to the fix branch
git checkout fix-gnome50-sidebar

Then install exactly what you want from the project
./install.sh --theme orange --round
That way you can install only want you need

2. Using my PKGBUILD (for archlinux)

Clone my repo
git clone git@github.com:tristanmsct/orchis-theme-git.git
cd orchis-theme-git

Then just run the PKGBUILD
makepkg -si

You can then run this command
git remote add aur https://aur.archlinux.org/orchis-theme-git.git
So that when there is a new version of the real package, it should overwrite this custom one.

You may need to uninstall the real package from the AUR so there is no conflict with this one, until the dev can merge the fix, then you can go back to the real one.
Disclaimer, always read a PKGBUILD before running it. My version will install all colors with the rounded variant, and install everything at /usr/share/icons, instead of the default ~/.local/share/icons. This can be easily modified by editing the PKGBUILD file.

Step 3: Save and exit (Ctrl + O, Enter, Ctrl + X).

Step 5: Restart Nautilus to load the newly cleaned CSS:

Once Nautilus reopens, the broken classes will be gone, the syntax will be perfectly clean, and the misalligned sidebar should disappear.

So, there are a few issue with this patch

It will target one specific theme but if you switch between color you will need to rerun it. Fixing the issue before install is more robust, you can then install every versions you need.

If you really want to just edit out sidebar-label and sidebar-icon from the config files, a simple sed command is enough, no need for python.

It might work tho, so why not, but I still recommend to just install from a patched branch or use a patched PKGBUILD

@tristanmsct The minimize, maximize, and close buttons in Gnome Files appear distorted; they should be circular. Can you fix this together?

This seem to have something to do with .button.image-button having a padding of 4 when other classes in the same row do not have this padding
Not sure exactly honestly I don't know much about all that and it is a real pain to test and debug but you can start there
