Change iso layout to add driver recursive

I'd like to add drivers recursive with dism or pnputil.
This would be easier if all driver for a OS are at one path.
Please change layout from <driver>/<os>/<bitness> to <os>/<bitness>/<driver>.

With hard links you can have both worlds without wasting disk size.

This repo does not contain the code to build virtio-win.iso, which I'm assuming is what you use as your source of driver binaries. The packaging repo lives at https://github.com/crobinso/virtio-win-pkg-scripts

Dual layout with hardlinks is definitely doable, although it would probably cause some confusion. Would this be just for convenience are is it not possible or practical in your use case to rearrange the directory structure with a simple script?

Who will build the Fedora ISO? I hope they will read here, too.
I mount the ISO files without copying them on hard disk, because I don't have access while migrating to KVM or installing manual.

For the record, as an alternative/workaround, this works for me, to e.g. install all 64-bit Win7 drivers:

D:\> for /d %i in (*) do pnputil -a D:\%i\w7\amd64\*.inf

The alternative layout sounds better, if users routinely have to install all the drivers (I'm not sure as am pretty new to all this).

Now I have one more reason for an OS based file structure.
I update drivers with pnpunattend and it will copy every (!) driver it will find to local driver store on every boot. So I have to scrape the OS based drivers from iso.

@ggzengel Huh. Funny, almost, considering the reason given in response to your issue in the other repo was that the current layout is intended to stop Windows from doing the same thing. Sometimes you just can't win!

Could there be different folder(s) for pnpunattend structured in a way that makes it happy?

I don't know how the iso is generated, but it looks like the -cache-inodes option of mkisofs will, in-effect create hard links for duplicate files, so no extra space would be used.
