Reduce space below year indicators

Hi!
When I found this library, i immediately wanted to use it for my blog articles. It is a wonderful solution for that! However, I do struggle with one layout problem, and that is the space below the years, which is quite large - see screenshot.

I have not yet found a way to manipulate this distance, as it seems it is calculated dynamically.

Is there a specific option available that allows me to remove this space?
