[Hetzner Email] Update of your hcloud-cloud-controller-manager required

Hello guys, Have you received an email from hetzner about this ?
Should i manually update the version of hcloud-controller in k3s or is there a procedure i should follow to prevent service interuption?

Hi, rerun the create command with the latest version of hetzner-k3s to upgrade the controller. When was last time you did this?

Hi, I have never updated the cluster previously we have been running for more than 1 year.
Just to be sure, you are talking about this command ? ( i found it in the docs here )
hetzner-k3s upgrade --config cluster_config.yaml --new-k3s-version v1.27.1-rc2+k3s1

This updates the hetzner-cloud-controller to the newest version and updates the k3s version?
I am bit scared of these operations 😅 , i sthere something i should be aware of or take into consideration?

No, I am talking about the create command which reinstalls the Cloud Controller and other components to their latest versions. The upgrade command is used to upgrade the K3s version instead. You should keep your cluster up to date often, otherwise you risk to break the cluster. For example, k3s certificates will expire and then you will have to recover the control plane. Is there a particular reason why you haven't been doing this?

Honestly, I am afraid something breaks since the app we are running is kinda sensitive but you are absolutely right.
So I should just run this command hetzner-k3s create --config cluster_config.yaml and it will update the cloud controller ?

Then I can upgrade k3s version.

If you don't keep things up to date, the cluster will break due to expired certificates and other issues, and you will have trouble with your app for sure. Which version of k3s are you running now?

How can I check the current hcloud-cloud-controller Version after running create?

Check the image tag for the relevant container in the pods.
