Feature Request: Split at Cursor / Split Selection into New Document

Description:
Currently, Split Document by Headings works effectively for large-scale restructuring, but it requires pre-inserted headings and splits the entire document accordingly. However, during editing or outlining, it’s often necessary to isolate only a portion of the text — without altering headings — into a new document.

I’d like to suggest two additional split operations for finer control:

1. Split at Cursor into New Document

• Moves all content from the current caret position to the end of the document into a new document.
• Useful for breaking a long scene, note, or draft section into separate documents without adding temporary headings.

2. Split Selection into New Document

• Moves only the highlighted text into a new document.
• Ideal for quickly isolating excerpts, moving ideas, or reorganising portions of text while keeping the original document clean.

Expected Behaviour

• The newly created document should appear immediately below the current one in the project tree (not at the bottom of the entire list).
• Optionally, the title of the new document could auto-populate from the first line or first heading of the split content.

Why This Helps

• Speeds up reorganising and restructuring during drafting.
• Mirrors familiar workflows from other writing tools like Scrivener or yWriter.
• Reduces the need for temporary headings and manual cut-and-paste operations.

These are very good proposals. Suggestion 2 is already proposed in #1486, but feel free to create a feature request on 1 under Issues.

Thanks for confirming! I’ve checked #1486 — that indeed covers the “create from selection” feature.

Since #2569 already discusses both ideas, I’ll now open a separate issue specifically for the “Split at Cursor into New Document” request as suggested.
