Follow up to Issue #2354

Just wanted to report that with respect to #2354, 2.8b1 resolves the problem in Windows, although the window size is set to the screen size, it does appear to be shifted about 10 px right. This is not a big problem as the window is draggable/sizeable.

Note: I tried to update the issue but it's closed to collaborators and won't let me add to it, despite listing me as a collaborator. *shrug*

"Collaborators" means something different in this context. Since novelWriter is hosted on my personal account (as opposed to an organisation) a "collaborator" is someone I've granted write access to the repo.

As for the positioning, I can try to make the app auto-centre itself on the screen as well.

Could you make a feature request on this? I can add it to 2.8 RC1.

Never mind, I'll just make an issue from the question. It has all the info.

The main window now auto-centres if it is being resized by code due to incompatible cached values. I also added a setting in Preferences to always centre the main window and welcome dialog which is on by default (unless someone complains) as I've noticed on Weyland that the app isn't always centred properly by the OS.
