I did try vmx-19, but when that didn't fix my issue, The VM does not see the attached .iso I select any compatibility above 7.0.2 manually. With govc the issue is replicated regardless of the version setting it both ways but manually creating works. I thought this was related to it not accepting a valid version option, but I guess it's a different bug I am experiencing. This is what govc vm.create shows as valid options for -version, as a fyi.

Could the problem be that device.cdrom.add only works with IDE and not SATA? When I create the VM manually, the controller for the cdrom is SATA. |
