'configure: error: mspack >= 0.0.20040308alpha is required' error when using ubuntu 25.04 in vmware 17

Describe the bug

Had the current version of open-vm-tools 12.5.0 installed but wanted to upgrade to 12.5.2 since shared folders didn't work in the latest vmware but i dont know how to install the latest version

Reproduction steps

1.Downloaded the git clone
2.extracted the .tar.gz archive
3.ran ./configure in the current working directory of the extracted .tar but returned this error:

configure: error: mspack >= 0.0.20040308alpha is required
...

Expected behavior

I expect the terminal command ./configure to finish properly without errors

testing ubuntu 25.04 in vmware virtual machine on windows 10 host

Please install dependency libmspack-dev lib before running open-vm-tools source build

You could use the following command to install all possible dependency libs:
apt install -y gcc g++ make automake libtool pkg-config libmspack-dev libglib2.0-dev libtirpc-dev libpam0g-dev libssl-dev libxml2-dev libxmlsec1-dev libx11-dev libxext-dev libxinerama-dev libxi-dev libxrender-dev libxrandr-dev libxtst-dev libgtk-3-dev libgtkmm-3.0-dev
