Request: Add Mastodon Icon

Many people switched to Mastodon after Twitter went X. Adding Mastodon would be a great addition.

We don't want to pollute the build with thousands of icons, so we focus on most used/diffused socials. At this time we preferred not to include them. Also, for legacy reasons we cat't remove icons once the socials are abandoned (and that's also why we are conservative in adding new ones).

Also, they are a bit "large" and you can see the small margins in the rounded versions, but this is secondary.

We still hope you enjoy the automatic generation with your own custom icons, too!

• I would be happy to tweak my designs and appreciate the feedback.
• "most used" socials is a political statement that personally I do not agree with and it seems a shame that this software should have to suffer the fate of existing in the rear view mirror since people wanted to use it to communicate today, and tomorrow and not being able to link easily to their socials is quite a primary requirement.

You have not closed this issue nor my PR at #15 - does this mean you are still considering this?

Perhaps a block that enabled an unlimited set of icons + links would be a better solution to the risk of bloating the assets?

"most used" socials is a political statement

Well, statistics is not political. The political statement is the choice to limit the number of icons in our "main distribution".

" this software should have to suffer ": the software is just an icon generator. Take the bundled icon as a sample and add your own or change them all! That's why we open sourced it!

Another option would be to add any style out there and any icon out there and create a repository of millions of icons: we instead made an opinionated choice for icons and for styles.

This is just a small tool.

I didn't close the PR because I don't know the future: maybe in future those socials will be the most used in our target and we'll have to include them.

We'd be happy if you fork the project and add the icons and styles you like!

• versafix-1 template is an opinionated master template for mosaico.
• mosaico try to be not opinionated about the previous and its behaviour highly depends on the master template you use.

We created versafix-1 for our specific needs and we bundle it with mosaico just to let people see a real master template at work but Mosaico idea is that you use it with your own master template and you bring your opinions there.

@bago Mastodon is not just another social network. It is the most used social network tool in the Fediverse. It uses a protocol which gives users choice of algorithms, and servers without locking them in to a leave-the-ads-and-you-lose-all-followers/followings model like X Meta etc do. I would think Mastodon and Fediverse compatibility is in line with Civicrm values. If not, I am very disappointed in civicrm.
