[Proposal] Browser GUI Tool for Verl (Playwright / Selenium)

I'd like to use Verl to train browser use agents (similar to ByteDance's UI-TARS), but it looks like Verl currently doesn't have a Browser GUI tool.

My idea is to contribute a minimal browser GUI tool using a Selenium or Playwright backend to support basic GUI actions like UI-TARS.

I saw #2832 which notes the lack of stateful tool support, which makes this approach slightly risky.

Questions:

• Would maintainers welcome a contribution in this direciton?
• How should we scope it so it fits Verl's roadmap?
• Are there any other risks I should be aware of early?
