Android 12 and Newer installation fails

Hello,
i wanted to install the Volkszähler app on my Phone with Android 12 but i got a message
This app was built for an older version of Android... when i try to install anyway it tells me Couldn't Install the App.
Is it Possible to fix this?

as you can see in the commit history as https://github.com/volkszaehler/app-android/commits/master/ , this code has not been touched in seven years,
it's pretty save to consider it dead.
it would need a new maintainer to do any updating, but i'm not aware of any android app developer on our team.

does the app have any features actually useful to you that you can't access from the web frontend in a (mobile) browser?
