not sure who uses this, not sure if it makes sense to keep it around

• seems to only be imported by other Wavefront projects, or by small unmaintained projects
  • https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/wavefronthq/wavefront-sdk-go@v0.14.0/application?tab=importedby
• always nice to have less code to maintain
• do we need to deprecate, or can we just delete it?
