This might be a cable issue but if it is recurring with different cables and monitors, then maybe a Mac hardware problem or simply bad luck with compatibility. Sudden intermittent dropouts are known to happen on Apple Silicon Macs with several third party displays, notably higher resolution ones (I experience similar issues regularly on my M3 Max MBP with certain displays). |

Hi there,
I have a MB Air M2 2022 running the latest MacOS, attached a Phillips 40B1U6903 5K display running in native resolution 5120x2160 connected via USBC and providing power for the Mac, and my iPad 13" via SideCar connected via USB
I use a virtualScreen in 1600x1000 in PIP Mode for Screensharing during online presentations.
My issue:
every once in a while all screens go dark for a second, and afterwards all windows get rearranged to the layout from befor. It seems to me, MacOS is recognizing the screens. So maybe the connection was lost before.
I recently switched monitors, before I had a Samsung with 3440x1440 resolution, and when I tested BetterDisplay I had the same issue.
any advice would be appreciated.
