OK! I finally found it. I needed to magically know to click on the display to uncover the secret hidden menu that shows Display Mode. Imagine my embarrassment at spending 20 minutes in the app itself, with its myriad of deep menus, none of which could accomplish what I needed. It is nice that I have a huge amount of power to control my monitor. It is frustrating that the UI is not intuitive, and seemingly has been changed recently so that many of the articles I was searching for showed me a totally different UI (for the main icon's settings). |

Not to diss this popular program, but how does one make a program with a complexity 1000x what it needs to be? I just want to flip between two different resolutions using a keyboard shortcut, and I'm basically up to my elbows in menus with not a hint of which direction I should go in. It's nice that there's a slider that allows me to set the resolution, but how would I set this via a shortcut?
(I guess I'll go the CLI route and do it with Keyboard Maestro. My view that this is the most overly complex UI I've ever encountered stands, though. It's not helpful that a lot of the help articles on github and elsewhere seem to use a version of BetterDisplay with a massively different UI, which adds even more confusion.)
