No, I am afraid that will not work. Sleep mode is not activated by DDC (although there is a DDC command for it). If the display does not receive DDC from other ports while the display is sleeping, then its board is probably wired this way so there is not much to do about it. :( |

Hi everyone, let me explain the context of my question.
I have a Iiyama G-Master GCB3480WQSU (aka PL3480WQ) monitor which is quite good, especially thanks to his multiple inputs (2xDP + 2xHDMI), which allow me to have multiple machines connected to it.
In order to quickly switch display from one to another, I use DDC commands associated with shortcuts on my main computer, a Mac mini that is basically always-on. My problem is: if the monitor's source is on a machine that shuts down or goes to sleep, then the monitor itself also goes to sleep, and then it cannot receive DDC commands anymore. Let me insist that I am talking about sleep for the monitor itself, and not the devices connected to it.
So here is my question: would it be possible, using BetterDisplay, to prevent the monitor from going to sleep (called "standby mode" in the case of Iiyama), so it keeps receiving DDC commands? I have already tried to script sending commands such as reading or writing values such as luminosity level or sound volume every few seconds, but it does not work. Let me also precise that there is no (known) way to disable the automatic "standby mode" on the monitor itself, sadly.
Thanks in advance for any help!
